Women's network meeting

24.04.2024 | Peiner Träger GmbH

Why are there so few women in the steel industry? Do they need a network and if so, why? Do women really have more self-doubt than men? A ground-breaking event took place focussing on these questions: The women's network meeting of the Group's sister companies Peiner Träger GmbH, Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH and Salzgitter Mannesmann Grobblech GmbH. 65 women from the three companies took part in this inspiring meeting in mid-April at the Danish Pavilion in Hanover.

The first day of the workshop started with a brief introduction to the topic and invited the participants to develop ideas for solutions to the issues presented. They were also encouraged to have more confidence in themselves, to be more self-assured, to seize opportunities and to stand up for their issues and goals. Afterwards, the first networking contacts were deepened over dinner in a relaxed atmosphere.

On the second day, leadership and team coach Stefanie Voss presented valuable insights on self-confidence strategies in the professional environment. One highlight of the event was the panel discussion, where four women from the companies shared their professional journeys, personal challenges and success stories.

Beatrice Fiege, Managing Director of Human Resources at the three companies, is impressed: "The network meeting was a complete success. We have many competent, courageous and experienced women with great potential who we want to inspire and promote for our industry in the future!“

The event provided an invaluable opportunity to exchange ideas and take a decisive step towards creating an equal and diverse working environment.
